A myofascial release involves your massage therapist kneading and stretching your muscles and fascia to release tension. This is a type of deep stretching that’s often done in conjunction with other therapeutic massage techniques, according to her. It works great for loosening uptightness in the neck, shoulders, and upper and lower back.”

6. The lymphatic massage

Maintaining fluid levels and eliminating waste products are some of the functions of the lymphatic system. A gentle touch is used to encourage the flow of lymphatic fluid through the body during a lymphatic massage.

Bodner says lymphatic massage is particularly beneficial for people with inflammation, including people who have arthritis and people who have had mastectomies, which remove lymph nodes.

The benefits of prenatal massages are that they can help moms relax and alleviate the aches and pains of growing a baby. Bodner says prenatal massages are perfect for taking pressure off the hips and reducing swelling in the feet and legs. When mom is relaxed and feeling well, the baby also benefits.”
