We accept reservations at our restaurant, but our garden bar operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

22. The Old Mill Restaurant

Probably one of my favorite restaurants in Newry, The Old Mill has a delicious menu and cool view overlooking Lough Neagh. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating which makes it perfect for all weathers! One of my most memorable experiences at The Old Mill was on Valentine’s Day; my partner and I were seated in a secluded area with fairy lights surrounding us we had no idea that was happening, so when we saw them we just assumed there had been a miscommunication with our booking.

Turns out it was done on purpose to create an intimate environment for couples, like us! There is also live music here from time to time mostly Irish bands that keep you up dancing. My boyfriend and I went here recently for his birthday meal and we loved it. Their menu changes often but their classics are always available the prawn cocktail starter is amazing. 20 Best Food Restaurants In Derby

20 Best Food Restaurants In NewryBut regardless of your particular favorite, there’s no denying that it’s one of Newry’s best places for sushi. In Newry, we recently dined at Thyme and it was wonderful. That had been a while since I had been. Given that Eat Out To Help Out was about to end in a few days, making a reservation was all that was needed. You can find an off-license right beside it, so what’s more could you want? The restaurant allows you to bring your own beverage. It’s great. As starters, we had garlic mayo chicken wings and Caesar salad.

Neither of our main courses, the king prawn, chorizo and linguine or the sea bass, was disappointing. Despite a large number of diners, the staff was friendly and helpful despite being under pressure. A relaxed atmosphere, an interesting menu, and only a ten-minute walk away make Thyme a favorite. Thyme is still offering the discount even after the EOTHO program ends, so you can still get the meal for £28. We plan to try their Thursday steak night.
