It can get expensive fast, but if you order right you can have a fantastic dinner without breaking your bank account. A few of my favorite dishes:
Cod cakes with miso mustard sauce, lobster bisque with sherry reduction, and braised pork belly on flatbread. I could literally eat at The Black Pearl for lunch every day for two weeks and not get bored as long as I ordered different things each time. Plus, they make an awesome Old Fashioned cocktail. This menu is literally scratch-made, meaning they aren’t just putting their name on something someone else has already done. They cook everything right in front of you and it is delicious every time. The portions are generous and with each dish, they also include some sort of tasty vegetable as well to complete your meal. Asparagus-Wrapped Halibut: One of my favorite dishes at Scratch is their Asparagus-Wrapped Halibut. It comes with sauteed asparagus, wild rice pilaf, haricot verts which I have never heard of before but was super good, herb sauce, and lemon beurre blanc sauce which I don’t like because I don’t like butter. There were also wild mushrooms on top which were perfect for me because I love mushrooms! All together all these different flavors blend really well together to create one amazing dish that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Also worth mentioning that even though halibut isn’t cheap.

The Fifth Element is a film written and directed by Luc Besson and starring Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm, Chris Tucker, and Luke Perry. When a beautiful young woman falls to Earth from out of space, she drives all who encounter her to madness. Zorg an evil businessman wants her for his own nefarious purposes. Shloime Dinklage a Hasidic Jew buys her for 2000 gold bricks.

Her name is Leeloo; she has amnesia; and without knowing it, she holds in her hand both the key to humanity’s survival and its destruction.

This was before they expanded and remodeled and added another floor and opened up their courtyard seating area outside. My favorite was their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with home fries on top of two pieces of toast. Those were good times indeed and I love how they serve breakfast all day long now too. One other thing I really love is their service. Everyone is super friendly here they treat everyone like family!

If you’re looking for a good brew, Brick Alley Pub is an excellent choice. The pub is a bit of a dive with mostly wooden tables and chairs, but it has a great selection of beers that are reasonably priced. Patrons can enjoy them while they watch whatever sporting event is on TV. Benjamin’s does not suffer from overcrowding even during peak hours. The food is absolutely fantastic and it’s a great place to go for happy hour. The ambiance of Diego’s is very nice as well, given that they have outside seating and tables inside. They also have weekly specials where you can enjoy half-off drinks on Wednesday and half-off appetizers on Tuesday. But their daily specials are a steal: you can get either soup or salad, both freshly made at Diego’s, for free with your lunch or dinner order from Monday through Friday excluding holidays. You won’t find a better deal in town! Overall, Diego’s is one of my favorite restaurants in Newport. I highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t already.

My first time here and I was not disappointed. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, amazing service! If you are looking for a good place to get wine and a bite to eat, Bowen’s is your place. So if you are looking for some great local flavor in south Jersey head on down Bowen’s Wine Bar & Grille!!!
They also have live music for entertainment but I have yet to go during that time so I cannot comment on that I can tell you they were very entertaining in there just watching everyone enjoy themselves! Also if you check-in on Yelp or Facebook you get 10% off your total bill!! I highly recommend going here! Very nice atmosphere and really friendly people working there.

Opened just last year, it was an instant hit thanks to its inventive cuisine. Definitely worth trying if you’re looking for an upscale dining experience.
